The Honda Civic: US’s Second Most Stolen Vehicle

Ever wondered what kinds of vehicles are recurrently stolen? Contrary to expectations, mid nineties cars are highly targeted. The 1995 Honda Civic is the second most stolen vehicle in the US. However, it was number one on the list in 2007.
This is a compact car made by Honda. In one month in 2008, the Honda Civic was the top selling automobile in the United States. Accordingly, the car has a great level of demand. Since the economy has been performing poorly, many people are holding on to their spoilt Honda Civics. They prefer taking their vehicles to repair shops. Auto thieves usually capitalize on this fact by stealing the 1995 Honda Civic, dismantling it, and using its parts to repair the newer versions.
If it is your first time to buy an automobile, you may want to think twice about getting this model. If you happen to be in college, and have commitments such as writing dissertations, then you may not finish your thesis paper format if you lose your vehicle to thieves. A vehicle theft can easily disorient an individual especially if you have not straightened out insurance issues.
Statistics have shown time and time again that auto thieves tend to avoid luxury vehicles. Many of them like older cars because they rarely have detection systems, and can permit the wrongdoers to go unnoticed. If one likes the Honda Civic so much, it may be plausible to consider buying newer models because these ones have anti-theft features.
